ARTISTIC STATEMENT

❝Cultural differences make [the future] [uncertain]. And while migration brings diverse peoples into our communities, the digital age brings them into our consciousness, and our fears.

As a Ukrainian in the UK, I am both an expression of, and a witness to multiculturalism.

In capturing these moments of European life on film, I have recorded the decline or [disappearance] of communities, cultural tensions and [political expression]. In the modern world, there is constant speculation and hysteria about cultural difference but day to day and on the street, how different are people really?

Whatever cultural identity we are labelled with, we live our lives as individuals: we [carry flowers], [we talk].

Our prejudices, fears and our media combine to make us feel like we are headed to cataclysm. But we should not underestimate our ability to value and [make light] of our differences, simply by behaving as people❞
